Climate

Heysbrook is blessed with the best of both the highveld and lowveld weather. Summers have warm (and occasionally very hot) days, though the inversion of cool mountain air dropping into the valley at night (from over 2 000m) ensures that evenings are almost always cool, even in February (our hottest month). Our rainfall is during the summer months from October through to April. In recent years we have averaged around 800mm per season.

During winter the days remain balmy with the nights becoming decidedly brisk through June into August. A hot outdoor shower with the frost lying on the stone walls is well worth the effort, with one’s towel warmed in front of the fire… Indeed, the booklet in your bedroom gives instructions in this regard.

Back Packs and Water Bottles

Each bedroom is equipped with a backpack and water bottle for your use whilst at Heysbrook.
