Heysbrook Country Lodge is situated within a secluded valley of some 1 300ha just east of Waterval Onder off the Elands Valley of Mpumalanga. Situated on the banks of the Heys brook, the lodge offers a uniquely exclusive getaway. Big skies, rolling vistas and solitude await you.

Heysbrook Lodge is located two and a half kilometres off the N12 toll road, 250km from OR Tambo International airport. The lodge – aside for the manager’s home – is the only dwelling on the estate, built on the banks of the Heys brook.

George Heys, a prominent businessman, living at Melrose House in Pretoria in the late 1800’s originally owned Heysbrook as part of his aggregation of farms stretching 40km from Machadodorp to Ngodwana. In accordance with his testamentary planning, this was kept in the family trust for three generations before being allowed to be sold.

The Heysbrook lodge nestles at the base of the escarpment, framed by towering mountains, sandstone cliffs and seven kilometres of the Heys brook, undisturbed by any trappings of modern living. There is no light pollution, no powerlines, no passing traffic or any other reminder of the world out there. Above all, privacy and solitude are jealously guarded.
