Heysbrook Estate is situated within a secluded valley of some 1 300ha just east of Waterval Onder off the Elands Valley of Mpumalanga. Situated on the banks of the Heys brook, the lodge offers a uniquely exclusive getaway. Big skies, rolling vistas and solitude await you.
The estate is located two and a half kilometers off the N12 toll road, 250km from OR Tambo International airport.
Climate
Heysbrook is blessed with the best of both the highveld and lowveld weather. Summers have warm (and occasionally very hot) days, though the inversion of cool mountain air dropping into the valley at night (from over 2 000m) ensures that evenings are almost always cool, even in February (our hottest month). Our rainfall is during the summer months from October through to April. In recent years we have averaged around 800mm per season.
During winter, the days remain balmy with the nights becoming decidedly brisk through June into August. A hot outdoor shower with the frost lying on the stone walls is well worth the effort, with one’s towel warmed in front of the fire… Indeed, the booklet in your bedroom gives instructions in this regard.
