Hi-fi sound for both your own music and the TV

There are six speakers in the lodge providing a surround sound experience (especially intended for the TV). There are also speakers on the eastern and southern verandas. All of these speakers are easily set up for either the TV or your cell phone/iPad as input devices.

As the default, the Marantz amplifier is set up for surround sound inside the lodge, already Bluetooth connected to the TV. Connecting to your phone shouldn’t require any changes to the amplifier.

For music from your phone or iPad

  • Log on to the OFA Music Receiver on your list of available Bluetooth devices on your cell phone.
  • Switch the Marantz amplifier on. See that the source (large dial on the left) is set to DVD and the sub-setting (buttons under the display) is Pure Direct. The volume dial is the large one on the right.
  • You should now be connected to the hi-fi.

For sound from the TV

  • Switch on the LG TV.
  • In the LG settings menu (cog icon on the top bar of the remote), scroll down to Sound Out settings. Select Bluetooth. Select OFA Music Receiver.
  • Ensure your cell phone isn’t competing for connection to the OFA Bluetooth.
  • If you prefer to use the internal LG TV speaker, in preference to the hi-fi speakers, scroll to Sound Out setting and select Internal.

Choosing which speakers to use

  •  The Speaker Selection System (the black box on top of the Marantz amplifier) has four sets of speaker options which can be selected independently or collectively.
  • The front and rear speakers withing the lodge are clearly marked, as too are the speakers on the pool-side veranda and the stream-side veranda.
  • The switch should be pushed in to operate and released out to disconnect.
  • As regards sound volumes, be considerate of other guests on the estate, especially with the use of the veranda speakers (don’t have these on unless you’re outside listening to the music).

We have had previous complaints from other Estate guests that the music from Bakoni Forest Lodge is too loud. Be responsible - please!
